We love a good movie with a friend and a decent supply of chocolate ice cream. Preferably on a weekly base. Life is good! But what if your friend goes vegan?
This happened to our friend Taco about two years ago. He brought every vegan ice cream he could find to the movie nights and tried it. But none of them were satisfying.
Then he set himself a goal: make the perfect vegan ice cream.
He was not going to let dairy and eggs stand in the way of enjoying his chocolate ice cream. One thing was crystal clear, he would not compromise in taste and texture. Taco asked Floris, his best friend, to help him invent this dream ice cream. After 44 batches, they cracked the vegan ice cream code. They now had the recipe to make astonishing vegan chocolate ice cream with exactly the texture and consistency they were looking for.
They knew that others would be excited about this ice cream. Montgomery’s was born: named after the friend who went vegan. Then Roos joined in to help with sales.
In order to be outstanding in stores and restaurants, Montgomery’s ice cream needed to be stable and have a good shelf life. It took us another 25 batches to get that right. Another invention was to add chunks of well-sourced pecans, walnuts, and whole chocolate covered almonds, which makes it truly irresistible. So, at batch 69, the ice cream is ready for the rest of the world and seriously addictive.
We can proudly say that we have our very own secret chocolate ice cream recipe:
vegan-proof and approved by non-vegans.
In honor of the wonderful moment that we cracked the vegan ice cream code, we like to refer to our Chocolate Bomb as "batch 44". To celebrate that Montgomery’s is seriously addictive and ready for the rest of the world, we call our nutty chocolate flavor Chocolate & Chunks also: "batch 69".
